Accutane, the brand name for Isotretinoin, is a powerful oral retinoid primarily used to treat severe, cystic, or treatment-resistant acne. It works by drastically reducing sebaceous (oil) gland size and output, lowering the bacteria and inflammation associated with acne outbreaks. It is commonly used by bodybuilders or anabolic steroid users to manage hormonal or androgen-induced acne caused by increased oil production.
